Precious moments

My husband and I are new parents.

When our son was born we set up a reQall account for him. This allowed people to call into a number and leave messages for him. The messages were from family and friends all over the world who delivered wonderful greetings. The messages were full of their joy over his arrival and their hopes and dreams for him and his future.

Looking back, setting up the reQall account for our son was one of the smartest things we did. You see, during those first few days after my son was born, everything was so hectic. Not to mention a little hazy and sleep deprived! I could barely remember if I took a shower—let alone remember all the wonderful wishes people had sent us! If they had told me in person, I don't think I would have remembered them all.

reQall allowed people to call in and leave messages without our phone constantly ringing off the hook. That gave me and the baby precious time to rest. reQall sent us a transcribed version of the audio files too, which allowed me to leisurely read the well wishes when things had settled down in our new life. It gave me precious moments to appreciate the great blessing of being surrounded by people who care for us and our son.

I plan on using those transcribed messages as part of a scrapbook I'm starting for our son. However, more importantly, when my son grows up, if he ever wants to read or listen to all the greetings people sent when he was born, he will be able to—with reQall

Better organization

A 5:30 a.m. birthday party

The reQall sharing function has got to be one of the best features of reQall.  I used it recently with my daughter's friends, to help arrange an early-morning, before-school surprise birthday wakeup for my high school daughter.

The girls wanted to come surprise my daughter and take her to breakfast before classes started.  Trying to set it up via phone would have been difficult – even if I had all those phone numbers and even if she wouldn't overhear me.  So I set up with her best friend, who is one of her reQall buddies, and we arranged it all with reQall.  They knew the date.  They had the time.  They had cars.  And they showed up just as she got out of the shower.  She was completely surprised.  It was perfect.  Well, it was awfully early, but what a way to start your birthday!

Quality buddy time

reQall here. Do you want to add or recall?

I'm  just finishing my junior year of high school.  Things are pretty hectic.  I'm on swim team and a student volunteer group.  I like to drive to school and team practice when I can.  Many of my friends work and several of us are summer lifeguards. And we like to hang out together.

We all have cellphones, but we are all so busy that it can be hard to plan time to get together.  And the more of us we try to get together – the harder it is.  I mean, we live on our cell phones, but 38 calls trying to find a date and time to get five people together is, like—not cool.

So I'm on reQall.  My mom told me I should try it.  I almost never try things she says, but I did this time.  Probably because I could sign up online. I like the way I can just say things into my cell phone. The stuff  goes into reQall and comes back when I need it to. I get to choose where.  Sometimes I check My reQall on line. Sometimes I open those email reminders. Sometimes I just call reQall and get that “reQall here.  Do you want to add or recall?” (I don't text because I got in trouble with my folks over my text messaging bill before I got reQall...so that's got to wait until we have a new cell phone plan.)

What I like best about reQall—besides that it remembers things for me—is that I told my friends about it and they set up reQall too.  Now we're reQall buddies and it makes it really easy to share stuff and to get those five people together.  No more 38 phone calls.  We can set a time or adjust the date and time and tell everyone in the group.  I'm saving my cellphone minutes for other things!

Sanity!

As smart as sliced bread

My husband and I both work and we're new parents.  Things can get crazy trying to coordinate everything. Something as simple as just trying to get the same event scheduled onto my calendar and my husband's calendar used to be quite a challenge.

It's just my opinion, but I think the ability to put an event on my calendar and have that event added to my husband’s calendar, all in one step, is one of the greatest  features of reQall.  It's so smart and simple you wonder why no one thought of it before.  I bet they said that about the invention of  sliced bread!

Before reQall, I would have to add the event to my calendar, than email my husband and tell him to add the event to his calendar.  A few days might go by.  I would keep asking him if he put the event on his calendar.  “Not yet, but I will.”   Finally, I would still have to remind my husband about the event a day or two before or even the day of. I really felt like a nag.

Now, with reQall, what used to take me four steps and frequently nagging my husband has been eliminated by the fact that the reQall sharing function allows me to add things to my husband’s calendar. reQall will send him automated reminders therefore eliminating the need for me to nag him about “Did you remember X?”

The ability to put an event on my calendar and have that event added to my husband’s calendar all in one step is a great feature of reQall.
